Pursue a Bold Vision for Jesus

As Christians, we have been called out of this world, out of sin, out of darkness, and into relationship with and service to Jesus to carry out His mission in the world. What is the rock that is the foundation of the church? Of course, the answer is Jesus Christ is the foundation. He is our cornerstone.

As we look at Matthew 16, we see the first time Jesus shared His vision for the church with His disciples. For some time, Jesus had been setting His disciples up for this defining moment: he had called them, taught them, allowed them to see His miracles up close, involved them in His work.

Jesus is still building His church, changing lives, saving the lost. So, how do we advance that vision in our time and our place?

It was crucial that they understand exactly who Jesus was, exactly what He was doing, and exactly how they fit into His plans.
